ABOUT CHRIS

How I ended up a licensed bodywork therapist doing John Barnes Myofascial Release

newsletter head shot (6).jpg

I've been through some painful injuries.  Myofascial Release has helped me heal and now it's my privilege to walk along with you on your journey to feel like yourself again.

I have personally dealt with physical trauma, depression, and PTSD. In 1999 I was hit, along with my two children, by a car while crossing the street.

We spent the following month in the hospital at Regions and Gillette.  Many more months were spent with physical therapy and follow-up procedures. I am not sure what was more difficult:  recovering from my own traumatic brain injury and physical injuries or seeing my children going through their own healing and not being able to help them.

I understand how frustrating it is to be in pain and I have experienced the benefits of myofascial release and would love to share that gift with you.

I ended up going to massage school in 2010 and a whole new world opened up for me.  I realized that there were still parts of my body and mind that had not really healed.  Massage led me to chiropractors, acupuncture, energy work, and John Barnes Myofascial Release.

I went to my first Barnes seminar in 2014 and knew I was in the right place. Many more seminars have followed since then.  I've learned to do a lot of self-care, and I incorporate suggestions of self-care for each client after sessions.  I practice what I preach!

All sessions at Time To Relax are designed to help you heal, move, and allow your energy to flow which helps relieve pain and the physical and emotional stress it creates.  We're meant to live our lives, not just be alive.

I go by Chris and enjoy time with my family and my cats. When I'm not working, I make time to go walking, take off on a motorcycle ride with my husband when it's nice out, practice yoga, and create hand-knit and crochet items, depending on what activity suits me at the time. I also have a love for horses.

I used to also spend quite a bit of time ice skating and playing hockey. Eventually, my body decided that hockey is better watched on the TV when I get the chance (which isn't very often)!
